What's an effective tool to set your intention for the week?



Whatever you set your mind to accomplish this week, make sure that you're able to break it down into sizable chunks that you can easily digest and get your hands around.


And whatever you think may become an obstacle to achieving your goal during the week, let's come up with a plan to overcome it.


Maybe you are already feeling exhausted or spread too thin. Or you're anticipating having difficult conversations with a colleague, your manager, or friend.


Perhaps you may need to mitigate a few risks to avoid a project delay--e.g., address issues with a vendor to ensure the project's timely delivery.

Setting your intention for the week makes a world of difference in how you navigate your week.

Rather than waiting to see what happens, let's set our intention for the week together.

Intention setting is a regular practice for our program members.


How would you like to learn a creative and fun way for setting your intention each week?


One way to do it is by using a tool called a C2R2. During a C2R2, we go LIVE in our private ExecutiveBound Facebook group (accessible to program participants only) and share two Cs (celebrating, creating) and two Rs (releasing, receiving/requesting).


My mentor, Victoria, taught it to me, and now I'm sharing it with you.


Here's what a C2R2 sounds like. "This week..."


I am Celebrating _________.


For example, I am celebrating daylight savings time--instead of driving to the gym under the dark sky in the early morning, I get to enjoy the sun rising. I'm also celebrating getting to the gym three days last week.


I am Creating _______.

I might say, "This week, I'm creating space to prepare for a training I'm delivering with my new partner, McKinsey&Company, who hired me as a Leadership Coch for the Hispanic/Latino Executive Leadership Program. I'm excited about the opportunity to impact the Latino leaders who participate in the program.


I am Releasing _______.


For example, I'm releasing any fears, hesitation, or judgment about how I will show up and experience the new training and all that's coming my way.


I'm Requesting/Receiving _______.


I am receiving love, peace, groundedness, purpose, mission, and lots and lots of grace.


I recommend using a sticky note to write these words down: Celebrating, Creating, Releasing, and Requesting/Receiving. Or, type these in your Notes on your smartphone.


This easy and quick weekly ritual is a sure way to set yourself up for a constructive and high-energy week. You can get creative, be funny and playful, indulge. Why not? You're doing this for yourself, after all.


While you can't control what happens externally, you can undoubtedly guide what's happening internally.

Setting your intention for the week creates a solid foundation to experience more peace, harmony, self-acknowledgment, forgiveness, and get clarity on the following steps to execute, which leads to results, and ultimately the pursuit of what brings you closer to your desires, personally and professionally.


That's how in our tribe, we set ourselves up for a purposeful week. We elevate our energy with the celebrations, get into action mode, get rid of anything that no longer serves us, and ask for the support we'll need.


Despite what the week brings, we'll seek the resources within and externally to enjoy and navigate the challenges that come our way.
